NAPOLEON BOARD TO REVIEW BULLYING POLICY

About a half dozen visitors attended the Napoleon Area School Board meeting Monday night, to emphasize the need to monitor bullying in schools.  The district’s leadership team, which includes administrators and teachers, will be reviewing those policies.

The Napoleon board also amended the date when kindergarten students can enroll.   Children must now be at least 5 years old by August 1st in the year they hope to attend, instead of the previous date- September 1st.

In personnel action; the Napoleon board hired Ruth Niese as special needs secretary, and EMIS coordinator.

The swim program will be led by two co-head coaches this year:  Tracy Weber and Denise Brown, who have previous experience as swim assistants.

And Paul Wayne was hired as the boys varsity basketball assistant coach.                    The Napoleon board also accepted the resignation of bus driver, Darlene Hull.

Overnight trips were approved for the DECA program in November and December.              And choir students were given permission to interact with Broadway actors during a March trip to Disney World.
