HOLGATE SWEARS-IN NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS

The four elected members to Holgate village council were sworn in this week at the regular session.  They include incumbents:  Brenda Kimmich, Tim Herndon, and Louis Streicher; along with newly elected member Walt Junge.            Holgate Council re-elected Carol Felter as president for 2014.

A new contract for law enforcement patrol in the village was approved with the Henry County Sheriff’s office, at 30 hours per week, at a cost of $30 per hour.  This is the same contract as last year.

A new contract was approved for village solicitor Dave Bucick, with a salary of $10,500.   Any time required in court would be reimbursed at $90 per hour.

Holgate Council discussed improvements to the village maintenance building, and will be getting estimates for the work.    And it looks like some damage occurred in the aerator at the town’s water plant due to the sub-zero temperatures last week.   No cost figures have been reported at this time.

And the Holgate finance committee will be working on the 2014 budget at their next meeting on January 28th at 6:30pm.
