HENRY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REVIEW NEEDS FOR COURTHOUSE

The Henry County Commissioners were informed about several points at the historic courthouse that are in need of repair.   Some of the huge sandstone blocks will require some restoration; and there was discussion about protecting the building from birds.             The exterior steps to the courthouse need some bonding; and the commissioners also reviewed information regarding repairs needed on the Henry County communications tower located on Reiser Street, behind the sheriff’s office.

Commissioners opened bids for the final cover project at the Henry County Landfill, with 5 companies seeking that contract, which is estimated at $450,000.    Two of those bids were filed at under the engineer’s estimate, with costs ranging from $344,000 to over $577,000.   Those bids are being reviewed until June 18th.

And the Henry County Commissioners approved a draw of $10,000 from the Ohio Development Services Agency; with those funds going to the Bartlow Township Historical Society for a construction project.

Residents are reminded, the Henry County office buildings will be closed on Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
