Defiance Local News

After reviewing the current financial situation at Countryview Haven, the Henry County Commissioners have announced they will not be seeking renewal of the current operation levy for the county home, that expires at the end of this year.  Commissioners met with Countryview Haven Administrator Sue Meister, and determined the census of 31 residents, and carryover of current funds, are sufficient to operate the Henry County Home for 2014.  The Henry County board will look at levy options beyond that, next year.

Commissioners are seeking bids for a waterline improvement project on Hudson Street in Napoleon.  Henry County is taking over the bidding process of this project since it is being partially funded through block grant dollars.   Those bids are due July 2nd.

A final payment of just over $130,000 was approved for work on the reflectorized marking program on Henry County roads.

And coming up Thursday, the Henry County Commissioners will be discussing issues with the federal Family Medical Leave Act.
