The approval of a new levy headlined the Deshler Council meeting last night. Council passed a resolution of the Henry County Auditors certificate of estimated property tax revenues. The issue will now go to the Board of Elections; it is a new 2.1 mill levy for five years to cover police expenses.
There was a second reading of an ordinance to limit grass growing. The ordinance states that if grass gets taller than 8 inches the city will give the resident 5 days to mow it before the city mows it and the resident is billed.
In other action, Greg Smith was hired as a co-fire engineer at the Fire Department, and there was also discussion about the storm cleanup in the past few weeks.
