DESHLER ORGANIZATIONS COMBINE TO REPLACE CLOCK

A sizeable improvement project was approved at this week’s meeting for Deshler Council for upkeep on the water storage tank in the village.  That cost will be over $163,500, with a company from Washington, Pennsylvania tackling the job.

Engineering consultants have investigated issues with the Deshler sewer lines, after findings by the Ohio EPA.   They have found most of the system is in good shape; but some changes will be made in the area of Wood Street.

Deshler’s zoning committee will be working soon to get information on flood zones in the community, to allow residents to obtain flood insurance.

A request for funding help in replacing the exterior clock at the municipal building was approved by Deshler Council.   The chamber will share the remaining cost; after contributions from the American Legion, Lions Club, Deshler Men’s Club, and the Sons of the Legion.   That overall cost is $12,000.

Council approved a truck show for downtown Deshler the Saturday of the Corn City Festival; while the car show will remain on Sunday.

A special event to salute returning American Warriors in the service is scheduled for August at the Deshler Legion.

And the village is gearing-up for community garage sales this Friday and Saturday; with spring cleanup set for May 8th at the Deshler swimming pool parking lot.
