DEMOLITION PROGRAM IN OHIO TAKES DOWN MORE THAN 6,000 HOMES

 

A program designed to reduce blight in neighborhoods, and pave the way for development, is off to a good start.  More than 6,000 structures that were dilapidated buildings in local communities have been torn down since the program began, and more are scheduled for demolition.    More than 28-million dollars has been spent for this house removal in Ohio.

Nearly 2,600 buildings have been torn down in Cuyahoga County, and another 559 in Lucas County.

Counties have until May 31st of next year to utilize their funding allocation.   Fulton County has already completed their initial demolition.
