AUGUST 2013 UNEMPLOYMENT HAS HENRY COUNTY LOWEST IN FOUR COUNTIES
The unemployment numbers are in for the month of August, and Henry County recorded the lowest rate in the four-county area. The jobless rate for Henry County was 6.6%; which is about the same as last year at this time. It’s also slightly below the state average for August, which is 6.9%.
Fulton County’s unemployment last month was 7.3%, for the highest figure in the region, and also a half-percent above last year in August. Defiance County checked-in with a jobless rate of 6.7% last month, and Williams County hit 7%. Putnam County was lowest in the region for unemployment, at 5.7%. But that was a half-percent higher than last year at this time. Wood County’s rate was 6.9% in August.
Around the Buckeye State, the highest unemployment rate was Pike County at 12%. And the lowest jobless numbers were reported in Mercer County at 4.3%, and Holmes County at 4.6%.
