ARRESTS AROUND OHIO ARE UP OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Although fatal crashes were down; it was still a deadly weekend for travelers in the Buckeye State. The State Highway Patrol reports 13 people lost their lives in traffic accidents over the Labor Day holiday weekend, from Friday morning through Monday night. That’s one less than the 14 fatalities reported in 2012 over Labor Day.
Troopers report there were 263 drug arrests over the weekend; which is up 32% from a year ago. OVI arrests were up 9%, with 762 drivers being cited for DUI. And aggressive driving citations were up 67% for the holiday weekend in Ohio. On a brighter note; the highway patrol reports in their traffic stops, seat belt use was up 23%.
